Poodles are the smartest, most trainable, most hypoallergenic and most versatile of ALL dogs that wear the Teddy Bear haircut.  

Poodles are most versatile because they come in all sizes no other breed does.  Poodles range  from the –

50 – 80 lb Standards,

20 – 40 lb Moyens

12 – 18 lb Miniatures

 5 – 8 lb Toys

4 lbs or less Teacups

Poodles have been styled in the Teddy Bear haircut since the 16th Century. They are the first and original Teddy Bear Dog.

Poodles are exceptionally intuitive, active breed they are loyal, comical, playful and loving Cuddle Bugs. . They are truly a family member!

They are the only breed that Circuses consistently used in their Dog Acts because of their quick learning and athletic ability, willingness to please and their natural comical nature.

Poodle mixes are called a “Doodle, Oodle or a Poo”.  Today there are at least 100  different mixes.  See the list below –  

People are in love with the fluffy face and curly coat because it can be cut into a Teddy Bear style.  The fluffy face and curly coat are the characteristics of the Poodle part showing.  These features are the  natural characteristics that every purebred Poodle are born with

Did you know that the most prized of the ALL Doodle type dogs is called the F1b.  What is the F1b?  The F1b of ANY mix is 3/4 Poodle.  Well, no wonder why it is so prized!

These mixed bred Poos, Doodles or Oodles are imitations of mixes that “looks like” a Poodle.  

Just for fun as a comparison let’s do a  “looks like”  analogy.  Let’s say you decided you wanted to buy something really special, and you had your eye on a beautiful gemstone.  But a salesman offered you a piece of costume jewelry that “looks like” the gemstone you like.   Would you pay the same price for the costume jewelry as you would for the genuine gemstone?   Would pay the same price because it “looks like” a valuable gemstone?   

Many people are doing just that today.  People are buying mixes for the price of a purebred.  This very thing happens with every fad that sweeps the country.  People jump on the bandwagon.  Some people will say, well the mix is better than the purebred.  Or I just like it better.  This is called herd mentality.  Well each to his own, but why would you allow yourself to be scammed yet again!  

There are plenty of mixed Poodle pups and other mixes in shelters that are in desperate need of a good home.  Because Poodle mixes are a fad, inexperienced people are breeding  them and try to cash in on the fad.  They will sell them to anyone who will buy them.  And so many are sold to people who have not thought the responsibility of ownership through or who shouldn’t have a dog in the first place.  Unfortunately for these poor pups many end up in a shelter.   If you want a mix pup, please consider adopting from a shelter.  You will save a precious life.  The price is minimal the reward is great.  

When you compare all of the qualities of mix breed dogs, to the purebred Poodle or any other purebred Dog, none of these mixes even come close.
